ISRAEL ACCUSES BRITAIN OF BEING “TAKEN OVER BY ISLAM” AS DIPLOMATIC TENSIONS ESCALATE
Israel has reportedly accused Britain of allowing Islamic influence to shape British politics and policy, triggering a sharp response from London.
The remarks came as senior Israeli political leaders reportedly held discussions over how Israel should respond to mounting international pressure, particularly following restrictions imposed on goods originating from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
The United Kingdom announced restrictions on settlement goods, while Canada and France are also expected to introduce similar measures, adding to growing Western pressure over Israel’s settlement policies.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has rejected the accusation that Britain has been “taken over by Islam,” arguing that international concern is focused on Israel’s policies in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Lammy said the international community is increasingly alarmed by the actions of Israeli settlers in the West Bank and what he described as Israel’s failure to adequately address the situation.
He also stressed that he is British and of Jewish heritage, rejecting suggestions that criticism of Israeli settlement policies is driven by hostility toward Jews.
The dispute highlights the increasingly strained relationship between Israel and several of its traditional Western allies, as pressure over settlement expansion and policies in the Palestinian territories continues to grow.
