ISRAELI DEFENCE MINISTER: GAZA HAS “NO REAL SOLUTION” WITHOUT REMOVING ITS CIVILIAN POPULATION
Israel’s Defence Minister has said he believes there is “no real solution” to the war in Gaza without removing Palestinians from the territory, claiming that Hamas refuses to leave.
“We are fully prepared to remove the population from Gaza, if it becomes possible, by sea, by air, and through every other possible means,” he said.
He added that Egypt does not want to serve as an exit route for Palestinians leaving Gaza, meaning any mass departure would not take place through Egyptian territory.
According to the minister, the main obstacle to such a plan is finding countries willing to receive displaced Palestinians.
“The countries that want to take in these people are asking for support from the United States. Every country prepared to receive them wants American backing,” he said.
He also claimed that President Donald Trump had not abandoned the plan but had merely put it on hold following pressure from Arab countries.
“Trump has not destroyed the plan; he has only paused it,” the minister said. “The time will come when Hamas fails to fulfil its commitments, and then we will receive the green light.”
