Israeli President Isaac Herzog has expressed shock and deep concern following President Donald Trump’s unexpected announcement that the United States will terminate approximately $3.8 billion in annual military assistance to Israel by the end of 2026
Herzog described the announcement as coming “like a bolt from the blue,” particularly because the existing U.S.-Israel military assistance agreement was not scheduled to expire until 2028.
