Istanbul Airport Overtakes London Heathrow as Europe’s Busiest Airport
Istanbul International Airport has overtaken London Heathrow to become Europe’s busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic for the month of July, according to the BBC.
Istanbul Airport recorded approximately 8.15 million passengers, compared with 7.86 million passengers at London Heathrow.
The figures highlight Istanbul’s growing importance as a major international aviation hub, connecting Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The latest passenger numbers further strengthen Istanbul’s position as one of Europe’s leading air-transport centers.
