It is purposed by God that I will be president again – Lungu
FORMER President Edgar Lungu believes that it is purposed by God that he will run this country as Head of State again.

Appearing on the Conversation Podcast yesterday Lungu says he came back into active politics because people were crying to have him back.
He stated that there were serious people and stakeholders who called upon him to consider serving as a president again as they felt he was the chosen one.
“Even my coming back, the much so called alebwelelapo which makes somebody sick, it’s not me wanting to come back. I can share with you that now that there is a cry from some sources that help us transit from 2026 to 2031 so that we [can] remake Zambia.”
“This is another dimension now. it’s not me who’s saying this, but this is some serious people telling me this.. ‘come back because it will be easy for you, you have proven it for us, we will just be telling you what to do.’ It’s not me who put myself here in this situation,” said Lungu.
He claimed that his conceding defeat to President Hakainde Hichilema in 2021 was because he wanted Zambians to see for themselves who truly means well for the country.
“Zambians have now seen who means well for the country. I did well to concede because I wanted Zambians to see for themselves. I was brought up well and I just came back to reorganise PF and I know it will be done,” stated Lungu.
He added that his coming back into active politics is also part of the agenda of restoring the PF to what it used to be before the death of its founding father, late President Micheal Sata.
“I promised President Sata at his burial that I would never let the party die. And I was in retirement alone there at home and they came and woke me up and harassed me just for me to come back,” he said.
