It’s not over; will expressed at ballot doesn’t reflect result, says Kasonde

ECONOMIC Freedom Fighters—EFF president Kasonde Mwenda says Tonse Pamodzi Alliance has retreated to reflect and that leaders will soon announce next course of action.

And Mwenda says he knows many hearts are heavy.

“Today, as the announced election results confront us with a moment of profound disappointment and concern, I know that many hearts are heavy.

“Many of us believe that the will we expressed at the ballot box has not been faithfully reflected in the outcome that has been announced,” he says.

He urges Mundubile’s supporters to not dispair.

“But let us not despair. We have walked too far, endured too much and believed too deeply to allow this moment to define the end of our journey.

“We remain a people of faith, courage and resilience. We believe that God is not absent from this story, even when the road before us is difficult and uncertain,” he says.

He declares that, “It is not over.”

He says the Alliance is currently in Merced in consultations over the announced results.

“The Alliance leadership has retreated into deep consultations. The necessary processes are underway, and the leadership will communicate the next course of action regarding the announced election results as soon as possible,” he says.

He says he and others are trying to establish the whereabouts of Alliance leaders.

“We are also actively working to establish the whereabouts and welfare of leaders and members whose presence we have been unable to account for. Above all, remain peaceful. We have hope that refuses to die and Wherever we want to go our feet will take us there,” he says.
