MWIIMBU VISITS FUNERAL HOUSE OF A LADY WHO WAS MURDERED IN A LODGE IN NDOLA
Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister Jack Mwiimbu this afternoon visited the funeral house of the alleged murdered Choolwe Sichiyanda in Singonya area of Monze District.
The Mother to Choolwe pleaded with the Minister to see to it that the perpetrator does not go unpunished as the murdered Choolwe was the breadwinner in the family.
According to Zambia Police Service Choolwe Sichiyanda was allegedly killed by Justin Musonda around 04:00 hours in Ndola at alodege after she ended the relationship with him.
Copperbelt Police Commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba says the suspect has been warned and cautioned by the police and that a statement has been recorded.
He says Musonda confessed to have met Choolwe Sichiyanda in 2021 in Monze district and the deceased became his girlfriend.
“From that time he took responsibility for her basic needs and the two agreed to get married which would have made the deceased a second wife.
After some time Musonda discovered that the deceased wanted to marry someone else and that marriage arrangements had advanced.
On Sunday March 5,2023 he managed to convince her to come through to the Copperbelt Province so as to meet for the last time.
Musonda sent the deceased transport money and the accused who was in Chililabomwe then,went to the supermarket and bought a knife with the intent of using it to kill Sichiyanda as he did not want anyone to marry her, “He explained.
Mr Mweemba said on Sunday the duo became intimate but things changed around 05:30 hours as the man woke up and picked the knife and stabbed the deceased with 19 deep cuts all over her body with protruding intestines.
He said the body of the deceased is still at Ndola Central mortuary awaiting postmortem
