My Reflections .
The warning signs were there. President Hakainde Hichilema appeared to be carrying the weight of the 2026 campaign on his own shoulders, while questions arose about the commitment of those expected to stand beside him.
Too much double tobela. Public declarations of loyalty, but where was the corresponding action on the ground?
Politics has a cruel way of exposing the difference between genuine loyalty and convenient association. When the burden becomes heavy, some stand firm, others disappear, and a few may even work against the very cause they publicly claim to support.
People must never drink from the cup they have urinated in. You cannot undermine a cause behind closed doors and expect to benefit from its success in public.
The lesson is simple: loyalty must be demonstrated through action, not slogans. And those entrusted with responsibility must be judged by what they deliver, not merely by what they say.
Judas did not betray Jesus in public first. The danger was hidden behind the appearance of loyalty.
