KAMBWILI IS A BIG THREAT TO UPND, SAYS MOONGA …but also praises HH’s “beautiful speech” on climate change
Chishimba Kambwili is a big threat to UPND, I just hope they won’t start finding cases against him, says Paul Moonga.
And Moonga has saluted President Hakainde Hichilema for what he said was a beautiful speech made by the President on climate change at COP26 in Glasgow.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Moonga said the UPND were scared of Kambwili, whom he described as vicious, saying other PF members must be as courageous to come out and declare their interests too.
“I like his courage, he’s courageous, he has the courage and he’s able to follow up political matters. He’s a threat, I hope they won’t start finding him cases to answer…they won’t start witch-hunting him. But they will end up building him up. The more they will fight him the more they will build him up,” Moonga said. “Elections are over, you can’t come back now to say ‘no they were using tribal remarks he will be arrested’, what nonsense. We were in campaign mood and things were said here and there. Let’s bury the past and move forward. We lost, we admit by 1 million votes, but those in power should not look back but forward like their own slogan. By opening wounds we won’t move forward.”
Moonga also addressed arguments by Kambwili’s supporters that without him at the helm, the PF was as good as dead.
“Those are opinions, they could be right. I am saying he is one of the strong candidates but there maybe other strong candidates than Kambwili. For now we only have one that has appeared, yes. So if Kambwili will go I will support him myself. He has come in the open,” Moonga said, adding that he could not talk about Given Lubinda because he has not made his intentions known. “I think he’s comfortable as vice-president…Only one has mentioned to become president. So the one, niwamene uyo tizamusapota…He’s a Zambian, he’s qualified. Munyolinyoli.”
Aside from discussing Kambwili and other PF matters, Moonga also took time to praise President Hichilema for the speech he delivered at the world leaders conference on climate change.
