KASAMA ARCHBISHOP URGES RESIDENTS TO VOTE AS POLLS PROCEED PEACEFULLY
The Archbishop of the Kasama Archdiocese, His Grace Ignatius Chama, has called on members of the community to take part in the ongoing General Elections, moments after casting his own vote at Kasama Lodge Polling Station.
Speaking after voting, the Archbishop encouraged residents to turn out in numbers and exercise their democratic right, stressing the importance of every citizen playing a part in choosing the leaders who will guide the country for the next five years.
His Grace described voting as both a right and a responsibility, urging the faithful and the wider community not to stay away but to make their voices heard at the ballot box. He appealed to residents to see participation as a civic duty that shapes the nation’s future.
The Archbishop also commended the peace and order that have prevailed across the district since polling began, praising voters for their calm and disciplined conduct. He expressed hope that the same spirit of unity and tranquillity would continue throughout the day and beyond.
He further encouraged Zambians to remain patient and orderly as the process unfolds, reaffirming the Church’s call for a peaceful, credible and transparent election.
