KATEKA ENDORSES MUNDUBILE-ZULU PRESIDENTIAL TICKET
New Heritage Party President Chishala Kateka has endorsed the presidential ticket of Brian Mundubile and his running mate, Makebi Zulu, ahead of the August 13 general election
In a statement made available to Mafken News, Ms Kateka urged Zambians to vote for the Mundubile-Zulu ticket, saying the election is about protecting the country’s democratic values, in addition to addressing economic challenges.
She said leadership should be judged not only on economic performance but also on respect for the rule of law, constitutional rights and national unity. Ms Kateka further alleged that democratic freedoms have come under pressure under the current administration.
Ms Kateka said a Brian Mundubile-led government would prioritise constitutional reforms, transparency, merit-based appointments in the public service and policies aimed at increasing Zambian participation in the economy.
In their previous participation in government the duo were comfortable with the absence of all the above values including economic decline. Why should i vote for the same decay?
Not surprising. Ms. Kateka was a regular feature at state house during the reign of PF and Mr. Lungu. She was often pictured jogging and exercising with Mr. Lungu and other PF adherents.
I doubt very much if the founder of Heritage Party, General Miyanda, would fraternise with the likes of Mr. Mundubile and Mr. Zulu. He is such a principled gentleman. He retired from politics and has truly kept his word. I miss his intelligent contributions whenever there was an issue of national interest to discuss.
His was the only political party I have ever belonged to. I voluntarily bought a Heritage Party card.
