Kelsea’s Legal Woes Mount
Bail, prison and now fresh money-laundering allegations — Kelsea Tafirenyika’s legal troubles are deepening.
Kelsea Tafirenyika, the second wife of Collins Mnangagwa, has been hit by another legal twist after reportedly being re-arrested on fresh money-laundering allegations shortly after securing her release from Chikurubi Maximum Prison.
The 22-year-old had been granted US$1,000 bail by the High Court on Thursday, overturning an earlier decision to keep her in custody over drug-related charges.
But her freedom was short-lived.
Reports indicate that detectives were waiting for her release before taking her back into custody over the fresh allegations.
The latest development adds another layer to an already dramatic legal saga that began with her arrest earlier this month following a police raid at her Greystone Park home.
Prosecutors allege that more than 200 ampoules of pethidine and morphine were recovered from her bedroom, while five rolls of cannabis were allegedly found in a Lamborghini at the property.
Tafirenyika denies the allegations and has not been convicted of any offence.
Meanwhile, a video circulating on social media shows her behind the wheel of a blue-light Ford Raptor during what appear to be happier days — a striking contrast to her current reality of court appearances, prison cells and fresh criminal allegations.
For Tafirenyika, Thursday’s bail victory appears to have offered only a brief respite from an increasingly serious legal storm.
She remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
