Kenya Gives Foreign Workers 90 Days To Legalise Their Status Or Face Action
Kenya has given foreign workers and business operators 90 days to regularise their immigration and business status, as authorities intensify checks on foreigners working and operating businesses in the country.
The government said the grace period is intended to give affected foreigners time to obtain the necessary work permits, immigration documents, business registrations and operating licences.
The move comes amid growing scrutiny of foreign nationals involved in small-scale businesses, with authorities insisting that foreigners must comply with Kenyan laws governing employment and commercial activities.
The government has also warned against harassment and xenophobic attacks, stressing that legitimate foreign workers and investors remain protected under the law.
