Kenya wants to host the opening match and final of the 2027 AFCON.

Kenya has formally entered the race to host both the opening match and the final of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Local Organising Committee told Parliament that preparations are 80% complete, with the new 60,000-seat Raila Odinga Stadium at 95% ready. LOC chair Nicholas Musonye said Kenya stands a strong chance due to the stadium, security and hotel capacity.

The tournament, co-hosted with Tanzania and Uganda, runs from 19 June to 17 July 2027. CAF has yet to decide which country will stage the two biggest matches.
