KIM JONG UN HONORS NORTH KOREAN SOLDIERS SENT TO RUSSIA
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has publicly praised soldiers involved in what he described as “military operations abroad,” a reference widely understood to include North Korean troops deployed alongside Russian forces in the war in Ukraine.
According to South Korean and Western officials, 14,000–15,000 North Korean soldiers have been sent to Russia since late 2024. Pyongyang has also supplied Moscow with significant quantities of artillery ammunition and missiles.
Kim’s public recognition marks another step in the deepening military partnership between North Korea and Russia, as the two countries continue to expand their strategic and defense cooperation.
