LAMECK BANDA DESERVES SUPPORT, NOT CONDEMNATION – FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATOR

A Football Administrator Mr Adrian Kashala has described the current situation surrounding Zambian international and Lecce midfielder Lameck Banda as both unfortunate and worrying, urging football lovers to stand behind one of the country’s brightest talents.

Reports indicate that Banda is yet to rejoin his Italian club, although the reasons behind his absence have not been publicly confirmed.

Commenting on the matter,Mr Kashala who is former Football Association of Zambia General Secretary said that while the circumstances have raised concern, the public should resist rushing to judgment and instead rally behind the Chipolopolo star.

According to Mr. Kashala, the situation should also serve as a reminder of the need to better safeguard and support the welfare and interests of Zambian footballers competing both at home and abroad.

He noted that there may be several possible explanations for Banda’s absence, but emphasized that until the facts are known, the talented midfielder deserves understanding rather than condemnation.

“Lameck Banda has consistently demonstrated exceptional talent, discipline, resilience and commitment to the game. He has proudly represented Zambia and excelled at club level, earning recognition through hard work and determination. This is a player who deserves our support,” he said.

Mr. Kashala further lamented what he described as a growing tendency among some football fans to quickly criticize local players instead of encouraging and celebrating their achievements. We must stop this unZambian habit of pulling each other down. Its inhuman, evil and bad in the face of God. God has blessed us different and dont cause harm and cherish their down fall. This tendance is fast growing in Zambia and am afraid  if we dont change will soon bring this country down by killing ambitious people’ talents.

He pointed to the experiences of fellow Zambian international Patson Daka, who has also faced intense criticism despite his accomplishments in European football.

“We should be celebrating our players, not tearing them down at the first sign of difficulty. These young men carry the hopes of a nation every time they step onto the pitch.”

He called on football supporters to remain patient and continue backing Banda as he navigates the current situation and pursues further success in his career. Let us learn to support each other in desperste situations.

“Let’s give this young man his flowers. Lameck Banda has earned our respect through his performances for club and country. Now more than ever, he needs the unwavering support of every Zambian as he continues striving for greater heights,” Mr. Kashala said.
