Largest Drone Assault on Moscow Leaves Oil Refinery Damaged and Two Dead

Ukraine launched what Russian authorities described as the largest drone attack ever targeting Moscow, with approximately 450 drones reportedly intercepted while approaching the capital.

Several drones reached the Moscow Oil Refinery, damaging part of the facility and triggering fires. Residential buildings and other infrastructure in the wider Moscow region were also affected.

Russian officials reported that two people were killed and 20 others injured in the wider region, while hundreds of residents were evacuated from a damaged apartment building.

The massive assault occurred on the final day of Russia’s parliamentary elections, with Moscow’s mayor claiming the attack was intended to disrupt voting. Ukraine’s long-range strikes continue to place pressure on Russia’s energy infrastructure and domestic security.
