LCC ADMITS 3,602 LEARNERS UNDER CDF SKILLS BURSARY

A total of 3,602 learners from Lusaka District have been admitted to various skills training institutions across the country under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Skills Development Bursary Scheme.
The beneficiaries were drawn from all seven constituencies in Lusaka District, with Lusaka Central recording the highest number of beneficiaries at 872, followed by Matero with 752 and Kanyama with 592.
Kabwata recorded 583 beneficiaries, while Munali had 574, Mandevu 150 and Chawama 79.
Lusaka City Council (LCC) Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba said the beneficiaries had been admitted to Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA)-accredited institutions across the country.
Ms Mwamba said the institutions include the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Evelyn Hone College, Lusaka Business and Technical College, Northern Technical College (NORTEC), Luanshya Technical and Business College, Kabwe Institute of Technology, Kasiya Secretarial College and Lusaka Vocational Training Centre, among others.
She indicated that the bursaries cover a wide range of skills programmes aimed at equipping learners with practical skills in various fields.
“The bursaries cover a wide range of skills programmes including Electrical Engineering, Automotive Mechanics, Metal Fabrication and Welding, Plumbing and Sheet Metal, Carpentry and Joinery, Bricklaying and Plastering, Tailoring, Fashion Design, Food Production, Hairdressing and Cosmetology, Computer Studies, General Agriculture, Water Supply and Sanitation Operations, and Driving,” Ms Mwamba said.
She urged school leavers intending to apply for the 2027 CDF Skills Development Bursaries to take note of the approved institutions and courses to ensure a smooth application process.
Ms Mwamba said the Lusaka City Council remained committed to improving the livelihoods and well-being of residents in Lusaka District by supporting access to education and skills development opportunities.
She encouraged members of the public to take advantage of the various education and empowerment opportunities being provided by the Government through the CDF.
