The Liberia-flagged commercial vessel MV Minoan Pioneer was reportedly struck by an explosive object while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, approximately 20 nautical miles off the coast of Oman.

The impact reportedly triggered a fire in the vessel’s engine room, causing a loss of electrical power across the ship.

The crew was forced to abandon the vessel following the incident. One crew member was reportedly missing after the evacuation.

The circumstances surrounding the attack and the identity of those responsible remain unclear. The incident adds to growing concerns over the safety of commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened regional tensions.
