LIMPOPO BOY BREAKS HIS SILENCE: Influencer Matome Robert Mahlatse Thoka Issues Public Apology After Viral Scandal, Says He Only Discovered The Woman Was Married After The Video Was Leaked And Asks South Africans For Forgiveness
Limpopo social media personality and influencer Matome Robert Mahlatse Thoka, popularly known as Limpopo Boy-Bujwa, has released a public statement apologising to South Africans, the affected family, and his supporters following the controversy that sparked widespread discussion online.
In the statement, he said he was raised in a Christian family that respects marriage and family values and claimed that he only discovered the woman involved was married after the video had already been leaked. He admitted that he should have verified her marital status before becoming involved with her and described his actions as poor judgement.
He also apologised directly to the Shai family, saying he never intended to cause pain and insisted that he is “not a home wrecker.” Limpopo Boy-Bujwa acknowledged the disappointment, anger and hurt caused by the incident and said he is choosing humility, accountability and reflection rather than defensiveness.
The influencer further stated that trust is restored through actions and time, not words, and asked South Africans for an opportunity to do better while learning from his mistakes.
What are your thoughts on Limpopo Boy-Bujwa’s apology? Is it enough, or should there be further accountability?
