Lucky’s Comedy Takes Aim at Alleged Paid Political Messaging

Popular social commentator and entertainer Lucky’s Comedy has intensified his criticism of individuals he claims are being paid to publicly support the ruling UPND government, alleging that some voices are motivated by money rather than principle.

In his latest remarks, Lucky reiterated his long-standing concerns over what he describes as government failures, particularly persistent electricity challenges and delayed payments to farmers. He said these issues continue to affect ordinary citizens and should be addressed with urgency

The entertainer went further to single out a well-known and outspoken supporter of President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND, a self-proclaimed prophet known as Seer 1. Lucky alleged that Seer 1 is being used by political interests and has been paid K10,000 to speak negatively about others in the public space.

According to Lucky, such actions undermine genuine public discourse and mislead citizens. He dismissed the alleged payment as insignificant, stating that his own brand and voice are “too big to be bought for K10,000,” and insisted that he speaks out based on conviction, not financial inducement.

Lucky’s comments have sparked renewed debate online, with supporters praising his boldness in calling out what he sees as wrongdoing, while critics accuse him of politicising entertainment.
