Patriotic Front Secretary General for Administration Edwin Lifwekelo has warned opposition leader Brian Mundubile that political ambition must not come at the expense of human lives, following the death of former Lunte Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya.
In a statement issued today, Lifwekelo described Mundubile as a reckless and divisive leader, alleging that the opposition leader’s approach since the announcement of the presidential election results has contributed to a dangerous political environment.
Lifwekelo said Mundubile must take responsibility for the consequences of his leadership and urged him to call on his supporters to stop actions that could result in further arrests, violence or loss of life.
He said the presidency should never become a matter of life and death, reminding opposition leaders that elections come and go and that political leaders must prioritise peace, national unity and the protection of citizens.
Lifwekelo also pointed to President Hakainde Hichilema’s political journey, saying the President lost five presidential elections before eventually winning, but continued to provide leadership and participate in the democratic process.
He further warned against what he described as efforts to undermine national security and said political ambitions should not be pursued at the expense of innocent lives.
Lifwekelo has since called on Mundubile and his political allies to recognise President Hichilema as Head of State and begin preaching peace among their members.
He said it was not too late for Mundubile to change course and make what he described as the right decision by calling on his supporters to “cease fire.”
“The route you have taken is destructive, retrogressive and divisive,” Lifwekelo said.

For sure he has to understand that life is short!
Unfortunately he cant, the militia issue, self proclaiming as a winner, illicit money found on him, his a cornered snake with only option is to strick what is within range, or its him to face the consequences. That’s why he keeps shouting from the UN compound him to secure his freedom from there. He knows that if he steps out boma is waiting for him by the gate and the gates of prison have spread their hands open to welcome him.
