ECL’s WISH WAS THAT HH SHOULD NOT ATTEND HIS FUNERAL – MAKEBI
A major standoff between the Government and family has marred the repatriation of the remains of the late sixth Republican President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, according to family Spokesperson, Makebi Zulu.
Zulu revealed in a brief live broadcast that a series of meetings with two Government delegations collapsed due to preset conditions suggesting that the family has no role to play in the repatriation arrangements.
Zulu says one of the main wishes of the late former Head of State was that President Hichilema should not be anywhere near his dead body, a wish the family wants to honour.
Zulu says on their part, the family had made private arrangements to repatriate the remains as per the wish of the late former Head of State that she should be repatriated as a private and ordinary citizen.
Zulu hinted that the family was weighing various available options should the Government insist on taking over without honouring the wishes of the former sixth Republican President.
Sources close to the Lungu family say they are not ruling out the option of burying him in South Africa and to later exhume him at an appropriate time to be burrried in Zambia.
That wish should be honoured.
Kangwa can represent the government, if the family agree.
Reject tribalism, corruption and oppression.

Even if he did say this, in the interest of peace, harmony and closure, Makebi Zulu should have had enough decency and good sense to not disclose this.
I deeply doubt the late leaving such a wish if the ‘humble, staunch Christian’ description he was given by his ba kandile is anything to go by. In any case, even if that is true, the living still retain the duty and privilege to use wisdom to either sanitize or throw away the deceased’s toxic wishes in the interest of harmony and peace if those wishes are deemed detrimental to the welfare of the surviving family members. Suppose someone leaves a wish that after their death, their family members should immediately climb an anthill and insult the whole village, especially the chief just because he/she had an axe to grind with the chief. Perhaps only Makebi Zulu (in his law wisdom!) would insist that such a wish be respected. Wisdom is very key in such matters, and that’s why bereaved families usually reach out for the respected elders within the family circles to guide such activities. Ukusambilila (being educated) is not equivalent to being wise.
Am very much disappointed with PF leaders the kind of hate they have is too much even ECL has gone with hate in his heart which is bad before God.

Malebi Zulu has been the biggest disappointment……thats the problem with adults who use jetblack to look young, lack of wisdom…..how do you agree to make such a statement…..just as well his political career is over. Just burry in south africa so your court cases continue, we are tired.

But If indeed what the so called family member or representative by the name of Makebi Zulu, that the family want to upheld the wishes of the late fromer prpresident Edga that HH shoukd not attend his furneral and burial. HH as Republican President of the Republic of Zambia not to attend ECLs funeral or not to be anyehere near his dead body. If really it is true then i am very sorry that this man died with the hate of HH with him. No forgivenes, no repentance and no foregoing both. His mind i am sorry to say this, was pregnant and full of hate for HH. Simply put during his life both in good times and sickness and indeed when dying he had no room to forgive. This is a very sad picture and story. I didn’t know about it and this is part of the qualifications for one to enter the Kingdom of God. How i wish the Christians for ECL could have led him to Christ our LORD JESUS CHRIST during his sickness and his last moments on earth than to live everything in the hands of people approving sin. Very sad indeed. And this will in no way fit in MHSRIP becsuse tgere will e no resting in peace if indeed the man died full of hate for others especially HH.
IF indeed what the former ECL lawyer now the so called family representative member (ECL had this on his mind ) together with the wife and children then i feel for his soul. I wish and hope that tgese are just stories. Because what is happening behind even at their PF party secretariat is what was happening in him, is what is happening in his family and where he is, i am just imagining. I dont know. But very sad indeed.

We have to go and proclaim the Kingdom of God by preaching peace. Those who don’t want it is up to them.

What is so worrying above all, if indeed Makebi Zulu is sating the truth abiut what ECL ssid during his last hours, minutes and seconds on earth about the hate he still had for HH if indeed it is true then his soul left this world very had and unforgiving such in the Kingdom of God ia not acceptable; to remain in hate, unforgiving and unrepentant.; Not in the Kingdom of God

While for HH immediately he bacame President of the Republic of Zambia President HAKAINDE. I head him say, ” i forgive all those who ill treated me, ” he said it openly in public. Some of his friends were not happy àbout it, but he said so. This in itself didn’t mean that his enemies who broke the law, the law also will forgive them without going through the normal process. NO.
In court if someone has done something wrong for the first time and shows remorse without wasting the courts time or judges time, they have a way of doing it and by law itsrlf again, there i hear room for liniency and they even speak strongly in the eyes and life and behaviour of such a one not to repeat the same thing again of face the consquencies or wrath of the law. This i doubt if it was the case with Lungu. Despite all the evil he did to HH but no change. Surely mwebantu and others can even approve and cement that for what eeason or benefit really.

This is very sad and worrying, what is happening in PF circles, used to happen even when ECL was in power and out of power alive now even in death still reflecting and being encouraged’ the legacy.
It is too bad that ECL is no more but what is happening is now more.

I think there’s been a lot of drama over Edgar lungu’ s burial. PF and family have over dramatized this sad event. Instead of fighting I think the government should leave the scene because they have done their best to cooperate but while PF and family are rigid and worsening the situation. Apart from complying with the laws of Zambia is the sitting government losing anything in leaving the drama to PF and Lungus family. It’s not normal or common for the strange condition that HH shouldn’t moan Edgar. Was it a sin to beat PF in 2021 with a landslide victory ? This is strange and funny. Nevertheless whatever happens we love HH and he is winning in 2026. Zambians are grateful and happy with mass development brought by this hardworking man.
We shall stop saying anything as we are advised but honestly it is heart breaking to listen to some conditions. But we know too well that persons who are unwell can issue any statements because of sickness, we have heard wives or husbands rejecting their partners due to illness conditions.The question is should people who are well also follow the conditions too? The answer is no.The reason is we don’t believe in patients refusing to eat but we encourage them even when they get upset with us because we know they are unwell. I suspect that Makebi Zulu has fabricated this.
Under the circumstances it would be better to leave the Lungu family to conduct the funeral privately.
The government has bent backwards in trying to give Lungu a funeral befitting a former President but has received unprecedented resistance from Lungu’s family through Makebi Zulu.

Something does not sound right. Something is being planned. These people cannot disregard the Head of State . Everything coming in must be thoroughly checked.
Some people used to write comments masquerading as ECL but I realized that it couldn’t be him and I never responded to such writings.This claim too, about dislike for someone not to be near his body is doubtful.That was not his kind of thinking.I behaved like I accepted it in my early submission because some patients sometimes develop some strange behaviour. You find a patient rejecting food prepared by the wife he loved so much and appreciated the cooking style.The sentiment from Zulu can not be accepted by any serious person.The PF guys don’t tell the truth most times.They have a habit of misleading.Their kind of politics is based on false hoods.They don’t realize people of Zambia and abroad have known their strange politics which always depict some childish elements.Sometimes they deny people important information by using ” don’t kubeba” meaning don’t tell them the truth or hide information from the people.You must know how to handle them.With me I have known them like I know my palm.I can even predict an action they may want to take from one after another.
