Lusambo never paid Tax for transactions on his properties
A Tax inspector at the Zambia Revenue Authority has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Court that Lusambo never paid taxes for all the transactions on his properties, for 17 years since he obtained a tax payers identification number (TPIN).
This is in a matter where Lusambo is facing 10 corruption-related charges among them one count of corrupt acquisition of public property, five counts of possessing property suspected to be proceeds of crime, three counts of tax evasion and one count of conspiracy to defraud.
He is jointly charged with his wife Nancy Manase for possessing four houses in Silverest Gardens, Chongwe which were suspected to be procceds of crime.
Enoch Ngonga told magistrate Faidess Hamaundu that Lusambo has never submitted tax returns
“Bowman Lusambo was registered as a tax payer on March 31, 2006. From this period, the documents are showing that no taxes have been paid from March 6, 2006 to March 6, 2023,” said Ngonga.
Anna Kabanda a chief registrar at Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources submitted a list of land title for Lusambo’s four properties in Ndola, and the other four in Lusaka’s Silverest gardens registered under his wife’s name.
Stanley Chenda an assistant inspector at Patents and Companies Registration Agency PACRA said Lusambo is a shareholder and director in Chichele FM limited, Chichele Investments limited and Mpongwe General Dealers.
He said according to the ePACRA system Lusambo incorporated for companies Chichele FM limited, Chichele Investments limited, Mpongwe General Dealers and Frontier Management Services Limited.
According to the details on the ePACRA system indicate that Mpongwe General dealers was incorporated on October 6, 2020 and directors and shareholders are Lusambo with 9, 000 ordinary shares, Nancy with 3, 000 ordinary shares, Chimuka Mweene Lumina with 1,500 ordinary shares, and Eddy Kakula with 1,500 ordinary shares.
He said Chichele Fm Limited was incorporated on November 26, 2020 and the shareholders and directors are Nancy with 2,500 ordinary shares, Eddy Kakula with 2, 500 ordinary shares, Lusambo with 1,000 ordinary shares and the secretary was Collins Changwe.
“Frontier Management Services limited was incorporated on January 31, 2017 and the shareholders and directors were Eddie Sinyangwe with 6, 000 shares, Musapila Sinyangwe with 3, 000 ordinary shares and the secretary was Patience Manase with 6,000 ordinary shares,” said Chenda.
“Chichele Investments Limited was incorporated on September 25, 2020 and the directors and shareholders are Chimuka Mweene Lumina with 1, 500 ordinary shares, Nancy Manase with 3, 000 ordinary shares, Eddy Kakula with 1, 500 shares, Bowman Lusambo had 9, 000 ordinary shares and the secretary was Victor Hollard.”
