MAGA-Senator Ron Johnson Turns on McConnell and Trump, Claims His Hospital Photo Isn’t Real
MAGA world doesn’t believe Mitch McConnell is okay, and they’re saying it out loud.
Republican Senator Ron Johnson appeared on Real America’s Voice Monday and claimed that the “proof of life” photo released by McConnell’s office on Sunday is not a current one. The 84-year-old former Senate leader has been hospitalized since a fall last month that left him briefly unconscious.
“I just heard from some, some other source that was an older photo, so I really don’t know,” Johnson said, admitting he hasn’t spoken to McConnell himself.
Laura Loomer, Trump’s self-appointed loyalty enforcer, went further. She called the photo “BS,” claimed it was generated by AI, and accused McConnell’s staff of lying to the public, pointing to blurry text on the image and the absence of an IV line.
Former Fox News producer Kylie Jane Kremer demanded the photo’s metadata in an all-caps meltdown, writing that “the public deserves clear, direct proof that Senator McConnell is recovering.”
Megyn Kelly piled on next, telling her audience the situation seemed “a little off.”
“I don’t know what’s going on, but I don’t trust anyone anymore,” Kelly said.
The statement from McConnell’s office was unsigned, and his powerful chief of staff, Terry Carmack, who earns $226,000 a year, has refused to comment for days. The only person claiming direct contact with McConnell is CNN commentator Scott Jennings, who bragged about a 20-minute phone call. CNN publicly distanced itself from his account, saying his claims were never verified.
This is the ecosystem Republicans built. After a decade of teaching their base to distrust every photo, every statement, and every institution, they can no longer convince their own movement that their former Senate leader is alive and recovering. The conspiracy machine has officially run out of enemies, and now it is feeding on itself.
