MAKEBI ZULU SHOULD NOT PLAY ‘HERO’ WITH THE STATE, IT WILL BRUISE HIM – TAYALI.

Economic and Equity Party President Chilufya Tayali has warned Toonse Pamodzi Alliance vice-presidential candidate Makebi Zulu against what he describes as a confrontational approach towards the State, saying it could leave him bruised.

Mr Tayali, who describes himself as a public lawyer, says Mr Zulu’s decision to represent himself in the ongoing bail proceedings, despite being a lawyer by profession, could work against him.

He says he is surprised that Mr Zulu appears not to have carefully considered the available legal options before taking what he considers a head-on approach against the Government.

Mr Tayali further alleges that Mr Zulu has been arrogant for a long time, warning that adopting a confrontational stance in his bid to secure bail may not produce the desired outcome.

“One thing I’m surprised about is that Makebi has decided to go head-on with the Government. He wants to play hero, thinking this is South Africa. Unfortunately, here he will be bruised,” he said.

“He was supposed to be humble and try to engage to see how he can secure his release. Going head-on with the State is not a wise decision for any lawyer,” he advised.
