Makebi Zulu’s RESOLUTE PARTY has endorsed HH

Nkokomalimba Kapumpe writes;

The Resolute Party, a constituent party of the Tonse Alliance, has formally endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema through its Party President, Mr. Phiri.

This raises a key question: what becomes of the MPs, Mayors, and Councillors in Lusaka, Copperbelt, and Northern Province who had already aligned with Mundubile and Makebi?

Does the endorsement mean their candidature is now at risk of being withdrawn if they continue supporting Mundubile?

With the ongoing infighting in the Tonse Alliance, one can imagine NRPUP on the Copperbelt watching this unfold with quiet satisfaction.

  1. If this is true, there is no legal issue here. We have seen it before and the law is clear. Firstly, it is a fact that RP party and NRPUP party are separate political parties under Tonse umbrella. For instance, under Ndola Central Constituency these two parties have fielded two candidates who are not only vying to be elected as MP but are at each other’s neck. If any MP candidate of either RP or NRPUP wins, he belongs to that particular winning party. Tonse alliance is not a party participating as such under ECZ.
