MALAWI COURT FINALLY BLOCKS BUSHIRI’S EXTRADITION TO SOUTH AFRICA
The High Court in Lilongwe has released a 175-page final ruling that permanently cancels the order to send Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary, back to South Africa.
This long-awaited document explains the court’s earlier decision made on October 31, 2025. At that time, the court found major legal mistakes in the March 2025 extradition order, including the fact that the couple was denied their right to speak and be heard.
The couple’s lawyer, Wapona Kita, told the Media that the new ruling means the Bushiris will not be sent to South Africa under this canceled order.
Kita also noted that the case would only go back to court if the government decides to file an appeal.
