MAN JAILED 3 YEARS FOR STEALING CLOTHES WORTH K850
A 20 year old man of Mazabuka’s Zambia Compound has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for stealing clothes worth K850.
This is in a matter where Silvestre Munkombwe stood charged with burglary and theft contrary to section 301 and 272 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offense are that on the night of 31st December, 2022, the accused, jointly whilst acting together with other persons unknown did break and enter in the house of Blessings Mweemba.
They are said to have stolen a pair of baby shoes, a T-shirt, one Vest and one blanket altogether valued K850.
Facts before the court are that Munkombwe entered the house of Mweemba when she went for a crossover overnight at her church.
In delivering judgement, Magistrate Changa Chitabo slapped a three years jail sentence on Munkombwe.
