Marco Rubio Says U.S.-China War Must Be Avoided ‘At All Costs’
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that a military conflict between the United States and China would have catastrophic consequences and should be prevented under all circumstances.
Speaking during an interview on Fox News on Saturday, Rubio said he could not imagine a war between the world’s two largest powers, emphasizing that such a conflict would be devastating not only for the United States and China but for the entire international community.
“God forbid us from this,” Rubio said, stressing the importance of avoiding direct military confrontation.
Rubio’s remarks come amid continued tensions between Washington and Beijing over a range of issues, including Taiwan, the South China Sea, trade, advanced technology, cybersecurity, and military activity in the Indo-Pacific region.
