LUSAKA – UPND Media Director Mark Simuuwe says the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) is headed for political retirement, charging that the opposition party has failed to present a credible alternative ahead of the 13 August General Election.
Mr. Simuuwe said NRPUP should prepare for another electoral defeat, maintaining that the party has not recovered from its loss in the 2021 elections.
“Don’t panic, ba NRPUP. Take it easy; you are now retiring from politics,” Mr. Simuuwe said.
He charged that NRPUP’s current leadership has done little to inspire public confidence, adding that the party’s prospects have weakened further ahead of this year’s polls.
“You were badly walloped in 2021 when you had what you called your best candidate. Now you have given us a comedian as your candidate. Watch the space,” he said.
