MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCES BY HON. BRIAN MUNDUBILE ON THE PASSING OF DR. GUY SCOTT, FORMER VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA.
It is with deep sadness that I have learned of the passing of Dr. Guy Lindsay Scott, former Vice President of the Republic of Zambia.
On behalf of the National Restoration Party for Unity and Peace (NRPUP), the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance and on my own behalf, I extend heartfelt condolences to his widow, Charlotte, the Scott family, his friends, colleagues, and all Zambians mourning this great loss.
Dr. Scott dedicated many years of his life to public service. As Vice President and, at a defining moment in our nation’s history, Acting President, he demonstrated a commitment to constitutional order, democratic governance, and peaceful leadership. His contribution to Zambia’s political development will remain an important part of our national story.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Scott was known for his intellect, candidness, and willingness to engage in robust national debate. Whether one agreed with his views or not, his passion for Zambia and his desire to contribute to national progress were evident.
His passing reminds us that our shared humanity transcends political differences. As a nation, we honour his service and the role he played in shaping our Republic.
May the Almighty God grant strength and comfort to the Scott family during this difficult time and give peace to all who mourn him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
