The Miles Sampa LED Patriotic Front (PF) faction has declared that former Secretary General Raphael Nakachinda no longer holds the position following his release from incarceration.

In a statement, PF Secretary General Administration Edwin Lifwekelo says Mr Nakachinda ceased to be Secretary General when he was incarcerated, adding that political developments within the party have since changed, including its alliance with the United Party for National Development (UPND).

Mr Lifwekelo says the PF faction led by Mr Sampa remains in an alliance with the UPND under President Hakainde Hichilema and has warned the media against referring to Mr Nakachinda as the party’s Secretary General.

He adds that the authority to appoint a Secretary General rests with the party president.

Mr Lifwekelo has also stated that individuals who joined other political parties or supported opposition presidential candidates in the recent elections are no longer members of the PF faction led by Mr Sampa.

He has urged the public and media to recognize the party’s position, while wishing Mr Nakachinda well in his future endeavors.
