MILES SUES LILLIAN MUTAMBO
Former Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa has sued social media content creator Lillian Mutambo, demanding two million pounds or its Kwacha equivalent over alleged defamatory publications linking him to the murder of 19-year-old NIPA student Ruth Mbandu.
In court documents filed on September 14 before the Lusaka High Court, Mr Sampa alleges that Mutambo published statements on her Facebook page, “Lily Mutanz TV”, accusing him of killing Mbandu, allegedly to conceal a pregnancy, and describing him as a “cold-blooded killer”.
Mr Sampa claims the publications were accessed and viewed by people in Zambia, causing injury to his character, credit and reputation.
He is seeking damages, removal of the publications, an injunction restraining further publication and a public retraction and apology.
