Miles’ suspension was very lenient – Chilangwa

ACTING PF secretary general Nickson Chilangwa says party presidential hopeful Miles Sampa has become a champion for UPND.
Speaking when he appeared on Millennium TV on Friday, Chilangwa said the suspension of Sampa from the central committee for bringing the name of the party into disrupt was in fact lenient.
Sampa was last week suspended from the party’s central committee for issuing what the party said were remarks in bad taste against the PF and its former ministers
“The suspension of honourable Miles Sampa was very lenient. He has not been expelled from the party. He has not been expelled from the central committee. He was given time to go and reflect. He brought the name of the party into disrepute. Go through hon Sampa’s speech and what he said. There are certain things you cannot do especially if I am in the central committee,” he said. “Bringing the party into disrepute when you go onto a platform and castigate others and you even become the champion of the UPND. He said ‘I am daring all those who were ministers.’ I was a minister, I told him ‘dare me. Tell me which contracts I got’. I never got a contract’ so he was casting aspersions and if you read through that line of presentation, it is not different from the way the UPND have been casting aspersions on our colleagues.”
Chilangwa said the PF would not tolerate indiscipline in the party by any official or mere members.
“If you have issues bring them in the central committee if you are a member of the central committee. If you are a real member of the party, bring the issues and discuss the issues within the confines of the house. You cannot have your husband going or a wife instead of dealing with issues in the house, going to sit on the rooftop of the house to start screaming. That is lack of regard,” said Chilangwa. “You must atone for your sins. You must atone for what you did.”
