🇿🇲 BRIEFING | M’membe Renews Criticism of Hichilema’s Cabinet

Socialist Party president Dr Fred M’membe has renewed his criticism of President Hakainde Hichilema’s Cabinet appointments, describing them as a betrayal of women, youths and persons with disabilities.

M’membe says only four women have been appointed to Cabinet, while youths and persons with disabilities have been excluded.

“This is not progressive governance; this is an exclusionary, elitist boys’ club that treats the marginalised majority as mere stepping stones to power,” he said.

He has accused Hichilema of contradicting his earlier commitment to inclusive governance, particularly after his administration championed constitutional amendments aimed at increasing representation.

“His words say ’empowerment,’ but his deeds say ‘marginalisation,’” M’membe said.

He further accused the President of using inclusion as a campaign promise while failing to reflect it in his ministerial appointments.

“Passing laws to boast about inclusion while locking the door on women and youth when it matters most is a masterclass in political dishonesty,” he said.

M’membe has called on Zambians to reject what he described as exclusionary governance and support greater representation of marginalised groups.

  1. Iwe Ka Membe.Cant you surely see that the numbers of the youths, woman and the other marginalized persons in parliament has increased like never before in the history of national governance. The problem with chaps like you is you skewed perception that a cabinet position has more monetary and prestigious rewards. You can contribute enormously to national development as a law maker.
There is no party after-party in the HH cabinet.Expect a lot of BPs, burnout and exhaustion among cabinet members due to the pressures of the Grow Zambia Agenda

  2. By the time Dr. M’membe is through punching the keyboard, 2031 will be upon him and he will record his last dismal performance.

Elections.are not won by persistent criticism of.the incumbent but rather through organised structures and articulating viable and appealing alternative policies.
