MONZE MAN DEMANDS THREE CATTLE AND K800 FOR BEING ACCUSED OF THEFT

A resident of Monze’s Munamwaala Village has been sued before the Monze Urban Local Court for failing to compensate a man from his Chiefdom after he allegedly accused him of theft.

Byta FM Monze Court Journalist reports that Hanguwa Himatuba of Sikasiwa Village sued James Bbuku, demanding that he surrender 3 cattle and an K800 he was fined by the traditional court.

Himatuba tells the court that he sold three animals in 2019, and later received news in 2021, that Bbuku was claiming one of the animals he sold as his, and wanted to take it by force.

He says the matter was later resolved by the police and then taken to the traditional court; where Bbuku was fined three animals and K800 for accusing him of theft.

Bbuku however refutes accusing Himatuba of theft and wanting to take the cow by force, saying he only wanted to confirm whether the animal was his or not.

He highlights that he lost 13 animals in the space of six years, and was informed that a brandmark similar to his was seen on one of the animals Hanguwa sold.

Presiding Magistrates Hellen Moonga and Pauline shawa adjourned the matter to the 22nd of March, 2022 for judgement.
