MPUNDU WARNS ZAMBIANS OF DARK DAYS AHEAD, “YOU WILL REMEMBER MY WORDS”
In a Facebook post, Former Nkana MP Binwell Mpundu has warned Zambians to pay close attention to how laws are being handled, saying the country’s future could be affected by current political developments.
Mpundu said he was concerned about what he described as attempts by the UPND to manipulate laws, arguing that many citizens had become afraid to speak out using a phrase “I don’t have a lawyer”.
He said Zambia had previously overcome colonial rule, dictators and oppression through citizens standing together.
“There will be one day when you’ll want to hear my voice and I will not be there,” Mpundu warned, suggesting that Zambians may only appreciate outspoken voices after they are gone.
He urged Zambians to be prepared to defend what they believe is in the country’s best interests, saying: “The country is worth fighting for, even to the extent of losing our lives for our country.”
