🇿🇲 PROMISE ALERT | Mundubile Adds ‘Millionaire Youths’ Pledge to Growing Catalogue of Promises

NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has unveiled another ambitious campaign promise, telling supporters in Chisamba that his government would turn the district’s young people into millionaires within two years if elected on August 13.

Addressing a campaign rally, Mundubile said his administration would prioritise youth empowerment through wealth creation, business opportunities and economic support aimed at helping young people become financially independent.

“After two years in government, we will turn the youths of Chisamba into millionaires.”

The pledge adds to what is becoming a growing catalogue of campaign promises from the opposition leader. On Friday, Mundubile pledged to restore meal allowances for all university students and expand the programme to include learners in private universities, presenting it as part of a broader effort to improve access to higher education and youth welfare.

While the latest promise drew applause from supporters, Mundubile did not explain how the proposed millionaire programme would operate, how many young people it would target or the funding model that would support it.

His campaign has consistently argued that Zambia’s economy can generate significantly greater opportunities under a new administration.

With the August 13 general election approaching, the campaign trail is increasingly becoming a contest of competing promises, with candidates offering voters different visions for jobs, education, infrastructure and the economy. As part of its election coverage, The People’s Brief will continue tracking these pledges as parties make their case to the country’s more than 8.7 million registered voters.
