By Staff Reporter
Tonse Alliance Presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has instructed all party supporters to refrain from retaliating against any attacks carried out by members of the ruling UPND.
Speaking to the media this morning in Kitwe,Tonse alliance presidential affairs chairperson Hon Binwell Mpundu NKANA MP said the Tonse Alliance has witnessed several violent attacks allegedly involving suspected UPND supporters. However, he said party members have remained restrained because of clear instructions from the Tonse Alliance presidential candidate, Brian Mundubile, not to fight back.
Mpundu said the party had hoped the police would protect all political players from violence but expressed disappointment that some of the incidents have occurred in the presence of police officers.
He added that if the attacks continue and law enforcement fails to intervene, the party reserves the right to defend itself.
There have been attempts by a known political party to portray the Tonse Alliance, whose members include former PF members, as a violent organization.
