Mundubile names ex-Minister Mabumba as architect of free education
NATIONAL Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity — NRPUP Presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has told Mwense electorate that former minister of education David Mabumba started the concept of free education.
Addressing a campaign rally in Mwense where Mabumba also seeks re-election as member of Parliament, Mundubile said his government’s free education will be quality with not more than 50 learners per class.
“The one who started working on free education is David Mabumba. We found school fees at K2000, David Mabumba as Minister reduced it to K200.
“Our friends only came and reduced K200. We will continue with free education. The only difference is one. Ours is free and quality education,” Mundubile said.
He says in the current free education policy, children are not learning.
“Our brother here who was the engineer of free education we agreed that, under our government, a classroom room should not have more than 50 learners, unlike the way it is today where classrooms have over 150 to 200 learners.
“Can children learn like that? Children have lower chances of making it in such environments,” says Mundubile.
