MUSEVENI LEARNS KENYAN SENATOR FRIEND DIED NINE MONTHS AGO
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that he only recently learnt that Kenyan politician and former senator Cyrus Jirongo died in a road accident last December.
In a post on Monday, Museveni said he had been unaware of Jirongo’s death, which occurred almost nine months ago.
“I have just learnt that Senator Cyrus Jirongo passed away last December in a motor accident. I was not aware that he had died,” Museveni said.
Jirongo, a veteran Kenyan politician, died in a road accident in December 2025.
Mourning his former political associate, Museveni described Jirongo as a “good and patriotic leader” who served Kenya with dedication.
“We shall miss him,” Museveni said, extending his condolences to Jirongo’s family, relatives, friends and the people of Kenya.
“May his soul rest in peace.”
The revelation has drawn attention because Museveni’s public tribute came months after Jirongo’s death, with the Ugandan leader acknowledging that he had only just received the news.
