MUSICIANS PRESIDENT: B-Flow Says Police Has Charged Artistes For Mundubile With Conduct Likely To Breach The Peace
Zambia Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi has responded to the Zambia Association of Musicians – ZAM’s request for details of the arrest of two ZAM members Moses Ng’andwe aka Chester MoPower and Felix Mangani Phiri aka Felix Ndangeni Inshila, alongside MC and comedian Winston Ngosa aka IDC Light Comedy.
Mr Chilabi has confirmed that it is true indeed the three artists have been arrested. He has also disclosed that they have been charged with “Conduct Likely to Cause a Breach of the Peace”.
According to Zambian law, Conduct Likely to Cause a Breach of the Peace is a bailable offense. It is a minor misdemeanor typically handled at the police station level through police bond or swiftly managed via magistrate courts and fines.
Therefore we expect the aforementioned artists to be released no later than tomorrow. Under the Constitution of Zambia, police must bring a detained suspect before a court within 24 hours if a court is nearby, or within 48 hours.
