Kafue District was painted red on Friday as thousands of residents turned out for a high-energy Red Day roadshow led by Kafue West parliamentary aspirant Obvious “O.S.” Summerton Mwaliteta.

The event attracted supporters from across the district, transforming Kafue into a vibrant sea of red as party members, youths, women, community leaders, and residents lined the streets to welcome the leadership. The overwhelming turnout temporarily slowed business activity in some areas as people left their usual routines to witness the much-anticipated procession.

From township roads to major trading centres, the atmosphere was electric. Supporters waved party regalia, sang revolutionary songs, danced, and cheered as the motorcade passed through various communities. The enthusiasm displayed throughout the roadshow was widely interpreted by supporters as a strong demonstration of backing for the United Party for National Development (UPND) and President Hakainde Hichilema ahead of the 2026 General Elections.

Addressing the jubilant crowds, Hon. Mwaliteta thanked the people of Kafue for their unwavering support and loyalty to the party. He urged residents to remain united and vote for all UPND candidates contesting various positions in the forthcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of consolidating the party’s development agenda.

Hon. Mwaliteta reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Kafue and pledged to champion development initiatives that respond to the needs and aspirations of local communities. He said the district’s continued growth would depend on unity, hard work, and strong collaboration between leaders and citizens.

The parliamentary aspirant also paid special tribute to district party officials, ward leadership, youth structures, women’s wings, and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of the Red Day roadshow. He commended their dedication, organizational skills, and commitment to mobilizing supporters from every corner of the constituency.

Mwaliteta noted that the impressive turnout was not achieved by chance but was the result of months of grassroots engagement, teamwork, and effective leadership at all levels of the party structure. He said the event demonstrated the strength, discipline, and unity of the UPND in Kafue.

“I would like to sincerely thank all district party officials, ward officials, campaign teams, and every supporter who contributed to making this roadshow a resounding success. Your hard work, sacrifice, and commitment continue to strengthen our movement and inspire confidence in our shared vision for Kafue,” he said.

He further expressed gratitude for the warm reception he received throughout the district and described the massive turnout as a clear indication that Kafue remains firmly behind the UPND and its development agenda

“The people have spoken through their presence today. This overwhelming support motivates us to work even harder and ensure that development reaches every corner of Kafue. Together, we will continue building a stronger, more prosperous Kafue for all,” Mwaliteta said.

As the Red Day activities concluded, the mood across Kafue remained upbeat, with supporters expressing confidence in the party’s leadership and optimism about the district’s future.
