NAWAKWI IS A PF MERCENARY WHO WAS HIRED TO SCANDALISE HH – UPND … she has not recovered from PF loss

LUSAKA – WE are not surprised that Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD), leader Edith Namwakwi has not recovered from the defeat of the Patriotic Front (PF) by the Zambian people.
We are however worried that 17 months on, Ms. Nawakwi, a PF cadre, has not healed and is still bitter as evidenced by her recent outbursts against President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND New Daw administration.
In a recent interview with the Revelation online publication, Ms. Nawakwi claimed that the improved inflation rate was meaningless and went on to attack President Hichilema’s persona with so much wild, subtle and senseless spite.
If it was not for this entrenched envy and bitterness against President Hichilema, Ms Nawakwi could have been discussing the challenges Zambians are going through with logical and sober reasoning.
Currently, Nawakwi is rusty, her strategy of politics has failed her. She adds no value to our political dispensation where people are required to logically and critically think through the challenges facing our people and offer alternatives.
Instead of seeing better days coming for Zambians under the leadership of President Hichilema, the failed politician wishes the current administration to fail.
As a former Minister, we expected Nawakwi to better understand governance and general management of the economy.
Ms. Nawakwi should know better that President Hichilema and the New Dawn administration have been working extremely hard to address the huge challenges created by her party while in Government.
Even as a failed politician Ms. Nawakwi should by now know that Zambia had lost international credibility which is now being rebuilt by President Hichilema.
Ms. Nawakwi should be hurting that President Hichilema has increased the Constituency Development Funds from a paltry K 1.6 million to K25.7 million in 2022 and this year to K 28.3 million. She must be hurting that President Hichilema has created employment opportunities for youths that have now been employed in government.
Are these achivements Madam Carlington maize scandle claims to be failures?
It is a fact that the President has also extended free education to Grade 12 and has implemented the policy decision. Is this failure?
Is it failure to be paying retirees within three months of leaving a job?
As stated we expect more informed arguments from Ms Nawakwi who has studied economics which we think she is slowly forgetting.
She knows that if Patriotic Front had retained power in 2021, Zambians could have been worse off as the international community was avoiding to-do business with Zambia due to impropriety and heightened corruption.
This is the reason Patriotic Front went on the commercial market to borrow expensive money as opposed to the concessional loans from multilaterals like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and other bilateral partners.
The IMF and the World Bank can now lend Zambia because of the trusted leadership of President Hichilema.
This is because almost all economic fundamentals have been put in place to attract investment and also create jobs.
If it was not for the reckless borrowing that the PF embarked on in the 10 years of their rule, the debt restructuring relief could have already been secured.
Ms Nawakwi should be ashamed of herself that she is slowly forgetting basic economics that reduced inflation is cardinal for a stable economy.
We urge our sister to move from politics of character assassination and trivialities, which have characterised her political life for almost 40 years. Maybe, it’s time for her to start reflecting on how else, other than politics to positively contribute to the development of the country.
Her political journey is surely coming to an end, but if she doesn’t realise this quickly, her ending might be very disastrous.
Right now madam Nawakwi has legal battles to fight arising from her careless and uncoordinated utterances. She has the case of the Hatembos on her back to deal with. And the Zambian people havent forgotten about the Carlington Maize scandle!
She should accept the fact that HH is the President of Zambia and stop hallucinating and hurting.
Her unjustified attacks and defamatory remarks against President Hichilema have been sustained while the latter was still in the opposition.
Ms. Nawakwi was a PF mercenary who was hired to scandalise President Hichilema with a view to minimize his chances of becoming the Head of State.
She should therefore be hurting to see the person she calls “my young brother” managing the affairs of the State in a prudent manner.
We would urge madam Nawakwi to do an introspection about her political career which is less inspiring especially for a woman leader.
As a woman in politics we expected better. It is clear that some of her reckless statements have landed her in trouble where she now has to defend herself- alone while her sponsors are perched on anthills from a distance.
We advise our sister to take some introspection and concentrate on preparing her defence in the numerous legal battles she is facing that could effectively render her bankrupt.
