Netanyahu Calls for Alliance with Arab States, Warns of Regional Extremist Blocs
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for closer strategic cooperation with Arab countries, saying the Middle East continues to face threats from what he described as both “radical Shiite” and “radical Sunni” blocs.
Speaking on regional security, Netanyahu said that while the Shiite-led axis remains active, a Sunni extremist alliance is also emerging. He argued that these developments require a coordinated regional response.
“There is still a radical Shiite axis, and there is also a radical Sunni axis that is now raising its head,” Netanyahu said. “We need to build an alliance with the Arab states.”
His comments reflect Israel’s long-standing strategy of strengthening ties with Arab governments that share concerns over regional instability, militant groups, and Iran’s influence. In recent years, Israel has expanded relations with several Arab countries through diplomatic normalization agreements and broader security cooperation.
Netanyahu’s latest remarks come at a time of heightened tensions across the Middle East, with ongoing conflicts and shifting regional alliances continuing to reshape the geopolitical landscape.
