NETANYAHU: IRAN IS TRYING TO REBUILD ITS NUCLEAR CAPABILITY
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran is attempting to reconstitute its nuclear weapons capability, following U.S. and Israeli strikes that he said had previously destroyed Iran’s immediate ability to produce nuclear bombs.
“President Trump announced tonight that Iran is trying to obtain nuclear weapons again. That is correct,” Netanyahu said.
Speaking at the Western Wall ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Netanyahu vowed: “As long as I am Prime Minister, Iran will not possess nuclear weapons.”
Netanyahu also said Israel is continuing military operations against what he described as the Iranian axis, including in Gaza and Lebanon. He claimed Israeli forces had destroyed the Beaufort Ridge and were now targeting the Ali Taher Ridge.
“We will continue our efforts,” Netanyahu said.
