BREAKING: NETANYAHU SAYS IDF HAS CLEARED HEZBOLLAH’S STRATEGIC ALI TAHER RIDGE
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the IDF has cleared the strategic Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon, a position he said Hezbollah had developed as an extension of the Beaufort area.
According to Netanyahu, the site was used to threaten the Israeli communities of Kiryat Shmona and Metula and was part of what Israel says were Hezbollah preparations for a potential infiltration into the Galilee.
“We instructed the IDF to clear it. I congratulate the Chief of Staff, the Northern Command commander and our heroic soldiers. They did tremendous work there,” Netanyahu said.
He added that Israeli forces seized weapons and computers from the position and killed numerous Hezbollah fighters during the operation
“Today we can say it: the Ali Taher Ridge no longer threatens us.”
🔥 The development comes amid heightened tensions between Israel, Hezbollah and Iran, with Tehran previously warning of potential consequences if Israel expanded its military operations against Iranian-backed forces in the region.
