NETANYAHU VOWS IRAN WILL NEVER BE ALLOWED TO OBTAIN NUCLEAR WEAPONS
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated his determination to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, declaring that Israel will oppose any Iranian effort to develop an operational nuclear arsenal.
“Whether there is a deal or no deal, Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu said.
His remarks underscore Israel’s position that a diplomatic agreement alone would not be sufficient if it fails to permanently prevent Iran from obtaining the capability to build a nuclear weapon.
Netanyahu has repeatedly identified Iran’s nuclear program as a major national-security threat to Israel, arguing that Tehran must be prevented from crossing what Israel considers a critical threshold in nuclear weapons development.
The statement comes amid continued international efforts to address Iran’s nuclear activities and establish restrictions and monitoring mechanisms designed to prevent the development of nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu’s warning also signals that Israel intends to maintain pressure on Iran regardless of whether negotiations produce a new nuclear agreement, leaving open the possibility of further diplomatic, economic, or security measures if Israel believes Iran is moving toward nuclear-weapons capability.
“Deal or no deal,” Netanyahu emphasized, Iran will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
