Press Statement | NHP delegation to visit H.E. Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu
The NHP calls upon all well meaning Zambians to join us in celebrating our one and only surviving former President Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

Lusaka, Aug. 27 – The New Heritage Party (NHP) wish to state that we are very delighted to meet with the Sixth and former President of the Republic of Zambia, H.E. Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu at his home. This meeting will be held tomorrow 28th August 2023.
This meeting has come at our request as the leadership of NHP, who feel duty-bound to pay a courtesy call on the former Head of State, for among other reasons;
◾to pay homage and appreciation for his service to the nation as Republican President. In keeping with the NHP principles of respect for elders in society as custodians of our history, culture and sources of wisdom and knowledge;
◾to seek counsel on a number of pertinent national issues being the only other person alive today, who has held the highest office in the land;
◾to generally see how the former President is fairing and settling in his new role of elder statesman and father of the nation.
